After retiring from a rewarding and challenging 35 year career as a nurse both in the NHS and hospice care I was excited to have time to learn to paint.

I enrolled with Quay Drawing, now based in Appledore, attending weekly art classes. Here I was encouraged and expertly guided by Pete Newell in a friendly and supportive environment, and constantly inspired by the other students. It continues to be a source of inspiration and delight.

I feel rooted in the landscape and aim to capture the amazing beauty that I find there, whether that is the stunning coastline, or the surrounding fields, hills and woodlands. The ever changing light and colours of the landscape add to the enjoyment and challenge of painting. I work mainly in acrylics as well as linocut. I am excited to be taking part in the Art Trail for the first time.
