My artistic journey is intrinsically linked to the legacy of my late father, the celebrated wildlife artist Mick Cawston. Growing up immersed in his world of creativity, I was always sketching, a passion that led to winning art competitions and representing my school in various events. This foundational passion flourished during my fine art studies in college, where I consistently achieved high grades, refining my technical skills in oil paints and charcoal.

Following college, I briefly ventured into self-employment, taking on numerous commissions that allowed me to apply my skills professionally. However, the need for stable income led to a full-time career in hospitality, a demanding path that stifled my creative spirit and freedom. The long hours and routine work gradually eroded my passion for art, leaving a void where creativity once thrived.

Recently, a powerful resurgence of inspiration has rekindled my artistic drive. Reflecting on my own unfulfilled potential, I have reclaimed my passion, and am poised to restart my self-employment venture.

This new chapter is dedicated to honouring my lineage and personal journey, using traditional techniques to capture the beauty of local wildlife and portraiture, fully inspired for the first time in years.
