“I began my creative life as a freelance illustrator after college, learning to build images through careful lines and quiet observation. Illustration taught me discipline, but it also revealed how much I longed for a space where imagination could stretch beyond the edges of the page.”

    DrawingPainting

“My artistic journey is intrinsically linked to the legacy of my late father, the celebrated wildlife artist Mick Cawston. Growing up immersed in his world of creativity, I was always sketching, a passion that led to winning art competitions and representing my school in various events. This foundational passion flourished during my fine art studies in college, where I consistently achieved high grades, refining my technical skills in oil paints and charcoal.”

“During the course of my 30 years as a furniture maker, I have tried to express my artistic side through the manufacture of making mainly utilitarian items for others in timber but also gaining insight in the recreation/ repair of period pieces. This has allowed me to create new pieces in different styles as well as my own.”

“Growing up, we were always encouraged to be creative. As a result, I have tried many different forms of media from pottery to cross stitch – there are very few I haven’t had a go at! I tend to switch between these from one piece to another. I have always loved animals and nature making it my main subject in my artwork.”
