I am a Master of Fine Art graduate from Edinburgh College of Art. I have a multi-faceted practice which involves drawing & painting, collage, text art, assemblage, life drawing and papermaking.

I work from life and the landscape/townscape in addition to continuing my development of personal language and symbolism in each of the above disciplines.

Having several outlets for expression allows me to (in theory) appropriate ideas with medium. Sometimes the outcome is simple and direct, but generally speaking, my work is cluttered, confused and impenetrable!

I have always disciplined myself in drawing from the life model – a hangover from the Scottish art school tradition, but one which ensures a solid base from which to wander and play.

After 45 years of creating – sometimes it flows and connects to the universe, sometimes it’s painfully dumb and laboured…I still rejoice in the fact it is so much an integral part of my existence.
