Louise Godber

In 2025 I took a sabbatical and made it my year of art. I loved it so much I have continued!

I have become addicted to painting in the quest to learn more about the medium of oils.

One of my successes this year was painting my sisters dog. It is now something I can offer to any pet lovers.
I feel drawn in lots of directions as I progress and experiment.

Recently I have been challenging my style to become more energetic and semi abstracted with landscapes.

My background originated in theatre where I acted, designed and created shows.
I have drawn on this experience in my approach to painting. As in improvisation, creativity flourishes by being playful curious, accepting it is a process of learning, being brave and flexible.

For me, making art is a living philosophy of life. Being receptive to the here and now.
Having resilience and courage to make mistakes while being open to discover the new. Expressing and connecting to fellow beings and most important, having serious fun that you work hard at.

Wishing you enjoyment of my and Phillipa’s exhibition.
