Louise has been making artworks throughout her life. Born into a family of creatives, she completed a degree and worked as a freelance illustrator. After having a family she moved into portraiture and has been working as a portrait painter for over twenty years. This time has been interspersed with a number of moves from; Birmingham; the Cotswolds; Qatar in the Middle East and now Ilfracombe, Devon. Each move has brought different life challenges and influences on her work.
Now very settled in her new adopted home of Ilfracombe, Louise is now working on her own collections as well as commissions. She finds herself at a new stage in life and is exploring her own emotions through her artworks, creating a collection of contemporary new paintings.
The human figure has always been the overriding subject of her work. Exploring and celebrating emotions and character, the joy and fragility of life is what Louise strives to depict throughout her creative practice.
