Originally from the Midlands, I have had no training since Art ‘A’ Level, when I’d never heard of acrylics or ‘abstract’ or anything slightly ‘untraditional’, maintaining a level of expected ‘normality’ until I came to Devon. Then I was on my own!
Every form of art that I experience is valuable to me but, for now, acrylic/abstract take the forefront – a chapter in an ongoing story – what next?
I have now lived in this part of the world for approximately 37 years, where the sea and skies as well as Nature’s imprint and sometimes brutal elements surround and inspire me. Through those years, I have pursued various mediums – water colours, pen and inks, pastels, and pencil etc. until now, when acrylics are my passion. Realism to imagination! From one extreme to the other, seeing things from a linear, minimalistic way to a free-spirited, abstract, colour themed way is the point I have reached in my story!
