Scuttlebutt Shanty Crew is a blend of individuals from the local community, of all ages, who came together through the love of singing, and has now become one of the leading bands in the Sea Shanty and Pirate communities, performing on the main stages of the biggest festivals in the UK. With stunning harmonies, musical talent, and a love of performing, Scuttlebutt Shanty Crew bring unrivalled energy and engagement to every event they attend. Rehearsing every Thursday evening at the Olive Room on Fore Street, Ilfracombe, the doors are always open for visitors and tourists to come along and listen.. and even join in!
On June 27th & 28th 2026 they have organised the inaugural Ilfracombe Sea Shanty Festival, attracting over 30 bands from across the UK and overseas, to perform in 12 venues around the harbour. Free to attend, this is an event not to be missed!
