Watercolour & mixed media
I was always encouraged to be creative as a child and I’ve been drawing, painting and making for as long as I can remember. I loved art at school and it was a natural progression to take a foundation course. I went on to Brighton Polytechnic completing a Design and Printmaking Degree, then worked as a freelance designer for many years in London before returning to my first love of painting. I now split my time between my house in Ilfracombe and the freedom of life on the canals in my narrowboat.
Colour is often a starting point for me and I work in watercolour, inks and acrylic. I’m inspired by nature and my paintings often reflect the flow and form of our natural world. I’m drawn to the myriad of colours of the sea and waterways as well as the incredible flora and fauna I see daily. I really enjoy sharing knowledge and regularly tutor at workshops, it’s important for me to develop creatively and I learn something new every time.
