Ilfracombe Photography Festival

Ilfracombe Photography Festival will offer something for everyone – from curious beginners to seasoned creatives, from instagrammers to camera club members – and will blend exhibitions, workshops, talks, photo walks, gear demos, film screenings and competitions into a memorable weekend experience.

The festival will engage the local community and showcase the breath-taking natural and cultural beauty of Ilfracombe.

We are planning a programme of photography exhibitions taking place in multiple venues across Ilfracombe. With a central hub based in the centre of town and with a printed directory of venues and galleries, visitors will be able to find exhibitions in the museum, the library and cafes and church halls across the town.

We are planning a wide range of workshops, talks and practical hands-on sessions including pinhole photography, open-access darkroom sessions, landscape and wildlife photography and photographing the sea.

In the lead up to the festival, we will also be engaging the local community through workshops in schools and other community settings to ensure that everyone in Ilfracombe will be able to see work produced locally, often by people who would not call themselves photographers, or even creative, alongside the professionally produced work on display.
