Emily grew up in Ilfracombe and later moved to Eryri, North Wales as a teenager.

Inspired by the surrounding mountains she climbs in Wales and having spent time in the Alps Emily draws inspiration from the local scenes and people who live in those environments. The isolating environment of the mountains also offers time to reflect on her own feelings, demonstrated in her angsty and expressive self portraits.

Having spent a lot of her life in the countryside, Emily’s art oscillates between a sense of cosiness, whimsy and warmth found in her mountainous countryside life, and the loneliness and solitariness found in the barren landscape.

Emily will be demonstrating a range of her work for the Ilfracombe Art Trail, including portraits,life studies, crochet items and cards and letters.
