Photography

I have had an interest in photography from as far back as I can remember. My photography journey started many years ago when my brother in law lent me his manual SLR camera to take to New Zealand on holiday. I became hooked! I proceeded to put myself through several college courses on photography and spent many hours in the dark room processing film and printing images. Fast forward to today and I now use digital. Until recently I worked in the corporate world where I used my photography skills for portraiture, events and product photography.

For my ultimate photograph I aim to capture and show light creatively which can also encompass some movement in the form of camera blur, or freeze all the action to document an image. I am inspired by anything that incorporates available light and movement. I find it fascinating that the camera picks up things that the eye doesn’t actually see, this is a constant source of wonder to me. Most recently I have been particularly drawn to, and inspired by, horses and dogs on the beach, moving so fast they really test my camera skills!
