Craig Wilson
My secondary school in the 80s had a few things going for it, one was the husband and wife partnership leading the art department. Robin and Julie Lewis took it upon themselves to establish a pottery for the students. They provided an oasis, a space to let us develop our creativity without boundaries. It was here that I discovered a passion for clay and making.
Over forty years later, I’ve rediscovered that passion, and have set up a micro pottery in Bristol. I love it. Why didn’t I do it earlier? After the first hesitant steps, it was like riding a bike – I just remembered.
Throwing and shapes are fun (even when those mysterious kiln gods get you). I find it’s an exploration of what I can get out of my mind and into clay. I hope you like these pots as much as they’ve given me pleasure making them.
