Sarah Cox

I grew up in Bedfordshire but always hankered to live by the sea and finally made it with my family 10 years ago and it's the best thing we ever did! I create pieces with papier mache, recycling newspaper and card and anything else that can be useful. These pieces range in size from only 5 inches to whopping metre long pieces of a turtle and seahorse. I also make papier mache canvases and panels, these range in size from tiny to massive too - my largest piece to date was a wave at a huge 8 foot x 6 foot. The sea and coast are my main inspiration, from tiny exotic fish to the humble local mackerel but I am also moving into papier mache canvases of townscapes and flowers. I love working with colour and texture but it's not all fish - I also make beach huts, cows, whales, geckos, octopi, seahorses as well as "trophy" pieces of moose, foxes and unicorns - the list is endless. I can be commissioned to make anything - if it's possible to make I will - I make so many fish though I have been referred to as "The Fishy Lady"!

I sell online through social media, and through stockists over the country. All my pieces are painted with acrylic paints and varnished and they are perfect to be posted as they are tough but lightweight.
